There has been speculation for a long time that BMW Motorrad would get into big scooters and now it is all go for the project. The concept scooter with ‘C' indicating commuter, has design elements taken from other models. The split face giving it a distinctive BMW Motorrad feel in dynamic and sporty scooter style. Performance will be taken care of by a newly developed inline twin-cylinder motor and CVT transmission. There will be a choice of two, as yet to be specified size motors and in the future an electric motor could also be utilised in the scooter.

The production scooter will be a highly developed with all the modern electronic rider aids we see on the other BMW motorcycles. It will be placed in the premium sector of the market and will appeal to riders looking for a commuter and those who have decided that a standard motorcycle is just getting a bit heavy to handle.

BMW Motorrad has used off shore production and there has been guessing as to where a scooter could be produced. It will roll off the line in Berlin / Spandau.

Scooters represent a large and for BMW Motorrad untapped market. European countries have been crying out a BMW scooter and even here in Australia there will be buyers excited by this concept. We have seen the rise in popularity of the big scooter as a commuter and even tourer and it will be good to have BMW Motorrad in this sector.

There is no time frame on we will see the production model but we now know it will happen.
